Accounting
Teaches
the discipline which measures, records, reports and interprets information to enable a person to make economic decisions. Course content includes the nature and function of statements, decision making, accounting equations, source documents, data, journals, ledgers, costings and management etc.

Biology
A comprehensive course
on living things – organisms and micro organisms and their effect on humans, genetics, reproductive systems etc. An in depth study of how things react the way they do and their effect on our environment.

Chemistry
Deals with the world
around us from a molecular point of view and seeks understanding of the structure and interaction of matter in the universe. The course includes topics such as the structure of the atom, organic chemistry, energy changes, behaviour patterns etc. This ensures understanding of why things react the way they do and looks into interpreting the results.

Economics
An understanding
of the commerce sector and its impact on humans, communities and the world in general. This course involves the study of producers, resources, logical decisions, consumers, demand marketing concepts, equilibrium, taxation, societies and government roles. Work on understanding, analyzing and interpreting real-world scenarios and issues.

English

(1) English
Levels:4 Senior levels, 4 Junior levels

English classes are divided into writing, reading, speaking and grammar classes separately and each class has different levels.For all levels students use a core text book and follow coursebook syllabus as well as the NZ curriculum. Focus is particularly on integrated skills of speaking, reading, writing and listening. Since attentions is paid to developing study skills throughout all levels. There will be close look at such things as note-taking, discursive composition, report writing etc

Study Club provides separate classes for student¢®?s need with several levels

(2) IELTS Preparation
Levels: IELTS 1: Intermediate Level + IELTS2 : Upper Intermediate+

Course content:
The course is designed to give students practice in the kinds of tasks set in the IELTS exam. It aims to develop the skills and vocabulary necessary for these tasks. Focus is on speaking, listening, reading and writing and the development of academic study skills, such as reading academic texts for general meaning and specific information, asking questions, participating in discussions and presenting organized, developed written work.

Exam dates:
IELTS exams are held at regular intervals.

Intensives
At different times of the year,
intensive courses are available in the following, Writing skills, Word power (Vocabulary Development), Pronunciation, Interview skills, Reading skills.

Geography and Social Science
Students learn different
skills and techniques to acquire knowledge about various geographical processes. These skills include mapping skills, graphic skills, resource management, generalizations and interpretations.
Case studies on landscapes and places will be carried out. Climate patterns will also be examined. Generally the student will increase his awareness of the environment and world issues.

Japanese
Taught by native speakers,
our Japanese language class is very relevant to today¢®?s economy. SCA offers a comprehensive curriculum integrating all aspects of the language -reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar and vocabulary. Students new to Japanese learn communication skills – initially lessons focus on reading and speaking about topics relating to daily life. Advanced students learn to express themselves in more abstract mode on more specialized and complex topics.

Mathematics
Study Club has all Mathematics
levels with NCEA and Cambridge courses according school grades.

(1) Senior Mathematics
Topics covered are: algebra, graphs, geometry, coordinate geometry,
Trigonometry, calculus, statistics and probability. These major topics are further subdivided into a broad range of topics including algebraic expressions, formulae on equations, logarithms, indices, sequences, linear equations etc.

(2) Junior Mathematics
Prepares a student to recognize different methods and functions essential to solve mathematical problems. Exposes them to the simple practical applications we use in our daily lives, such as shopping,percentages,profit and loss etc.
Physics

A very comprehensive course at different levels, which covers various topics, like mechanics, light and waves, electricity & magnetism and nuclear physics¢®| in detail in accordance with the NZ curriculum. Will prepare Cambridge A, AS and IGCSE level as well as NCEA.

Social Studies
During the course
students develop understanding and skills, which obviously enable them to become responsible citizens. The Social Studies programme is implemented in such a way that all the students gain knowledge about events, places, global issues and people of significance to New Zealand. This is available from Primary to Secondary students.

General Science
To develop scientific
skills that enable the student to build a knowledge base in science. Covers topics such as the living world, the physical world, the material world, classifications, energy, communities, reproduction, metals, circuits etc.
